FSSC 22000: 2011 is a new Food Safety Management System Certification based on existing ISO standards, which is internationally recognized, namely ISO 22000, ISO / TS 22002-1: 2009 (or equivalent PAS 220) and ISO / TS 22003, specifically aimed at food industry sector. FSSC 22000 is managed by the Food Safety Certification Foundation based in the Netherlands, released on May 15, 2009 and initiated by the World Food Safety Agency, The Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). Manufacturers who already have an ISO 22000: 2005 certificate and wish to be FSSC 22000: 2011 certified only require validation of the ISO 22000: 2005 certification and an additional review of ISO / TS 22002-1: 2009.
